Today, we learn that the federal government now has asked for--and was granted--a delay in Abramoff's sentencing which will now be sometime after June. Not only is Abramoff giving the feds something so juicy they want him to keep talking, but the "naming of names" will now take place closer to midterm elections. In the months before voters go to the polls to determine the fate of the Republican majority in Congress, Abramoff's summer sentencing will cause the Republican culture of corruption to dominate the campaign news cycle. This latest development has to make Republicans very, very nervous.
