Elk Sirloin Can't Be Beat

Previously I wrote about our gift of elk meat from a friend whose husband hunts elk out west every year. We loved it so much last year she gave us some more this year. We had our first elk sirloins the other night. As you can see from the photo there is minimal fat so great care has to be taken not to over cook them. Don't they look luscious? And as far as meat goes, because it's low fat, it's a healthier meat. Now elk compared to deer is like comparing a Timex watch to a Rolex Datejust. The only seasoning I used was some Lawry's seasoned salt and a pinch of garlic and it tasted delicious.

Do you know how much elk meat costs to buy? Around $29 a pound!!!
