The New York Mets opened the season with a bang yesterday! They beat the Florida Marlins 7-2 and their ace new pitcher Santana was everything everyone hoped he would be, with eight strikeouts, two walks and three hits. I would have loved to have seen the game. For years I went to the openers at Shea, but a trip to Florida wasn't on the cards. Oddly enough I used to live very near the Marlins stadium. I don't know anyone near there anymore so we would have had to find some good hotel deals nearby. The Sports Channel is even broadcasting away games in HD now so I will definitely be watching most of the games. I should get some spinning and knitting done in between innings!
