Weekend Fun on the Lake

We are back and feeling refreshed from an extra long weekend at the cabin with surprisingly better weather than we had expected. We go up there to forget all our cares and we certainly forgot all those including Mike's Spanish Proficiency test! Well almost. Mike brought a friend with him and on our way home we dropped them both off at said friend's house on Sunday evening. At 11:30 that night I happened to glance at the Regents exam schedule which I was about to throw away since the kids were done, and was abruptly reminded that Mike's test was the next morning at 8:30 AM. Yikes! I needed to call him at 6:40 AM the next day and was glad that I did not wake up the whole household. Speaking of Regent's, Dan got a 96 on the Global Regents exam. He also got the highest average in math in his class which is good since he wants to be an engineer. We were all ecstatic. He's a junior next year. Mike received the President's Education Award for outstanding academic achievement and also got the highest average in English and science. He's a sophomore next year. Time really flies....

Mike's Boat. Both Dan and Mike took their Boater's Safety Course in order to legally pilot a boat in NY waters.

The boys (Rascal IS one of the boys) in their favorite spot on the bow of the pontoon boat.

Dan and his friend Brent having a blast on the tube. This time of year the water is still a little chilly though.
