Makin' Hay

Well not really, but putting it up for the winter is what we were doing. We received 250 bales and the lads proceeded to empty the hay wagon and stack it in the loft. My job is the hardest, I have to watch and count!

We got a decent price considering all the rain we've had, the shortages and the price of diesel fuel, so $2.50 a bale is reasonable. We bought a used hay elevator years ago and it's paid for itself many times over in saved labor and sweat. But there was little sweat this time (easy for me to say!) as the weather was unseasonably cool..... AGAIN. Heck it was even 40 degrees last night!!
