Shearing Ourselves

We tried our hands at shearing since we had to ship a lamb and I liked the fleece. We do have an electric shears and Tom did a pretty good job for a guy who hasn't done it in about 5 years and even then did it only once and almost cut his hand off!

The fleece is as soft as can be. Of course it wasn't covered so I am reminded as I go through it, why I cover my sheep!


I have been looking for a used drum carder and may have found one. It's a Strauch Petite and it was only used once. I will know for sure by next week.
