When we were feeding the sheep the other day this bird was on one of the lamb's backs. He wouldn't move either. Then when it finally got spooked enough by all the activity it stayed nearby on the ground. It was the oddest thing I've seen in awhile. Was it a lost fledgling that attached itself to one of the ewe lambs? I'm not even sure what kind of bird it is. I know it's a lousy picture but I didn't want to spook the bird and not get a picture at all.
I know this is common in Africa where you see birds on the animals all the time. That's a nice example of symbiosis, but this isn't that I'm pretty sure.
