Even though the world series is going on right now, football is in full swing. I was a Miami Hurricanes fan back in the day when I lived in Florida. Their nickname isn't too original though. Personally I like live mascots. The Tennessee football team has a great mascot. It's a Blue Tick Coon Hound and this all began back in 1953 when the students were polled and decided that they wanted a live mascot. They had a competition to find the best dog and the family that won still supplies the dogs today. This dog is native to Tennessee so it's quite appropriate.
