It was a noisy night to say the least. I thought about making an audio recording of the commotion caused when mothers are removed from their lambs. The mothers are actually quite relieved to be at peace again without demanding tugs on their udders. Once they get over their initial distress, they are quite content. We put the lambs in the barn and the mothers stay in the barnyard. We play the radio in the barn, loudly, so that they cannot hear each other. This helps. In a few days, when the moms start drying up, we will put them out on pasture, and in a week or so, their lambs will join them.
I think I could make some really funny t-shirts out of some of these lambs' expressions.
