Farm Plans

Do people generally have a succession plan for after their flock sire goes to the lamb godess in the sky, or do they just wing it? I have to confess I haven't thought that far ahead but I found myself wondering the other day, with the the cost of grain skyrocketing (thank you corn based ethanol) and the cost of hay not that far behind, will we even have sheep in 10 years.
